Steelianos is an electric guitar player, tutor and composer from Athens, Hellas. He is one of the founding members of Enemy Of Reality.
1993: He began his musical studies with classical piano & theory in the age of 5 years old.
2002 – 2005: He bought his first electric guitar, played and sang in school events and performances, musical as well as theatrical. He created his first teenage band and played his first shows. He took private lessons from Theodore Ziras one of the fastest players of all times.
2007: He played more shows with rock & metal bands from Athens, and at the same time he started teaching electric guitar privately.
2008: He started taking lessons from Ioannis Anastassakis and Theodore Ziras at the same time, while he participated in seminars, clinics and took lessons from other well known international players.
2010: He recorded his first songs, his first video clips and performance videos in his own compositions and covers, while at the same time he created a band named Steelborn and played many shows with Keado Mores. Guitar lessons turned into a full time job both in private and Skype lessons with international students apart from Greeks.
2013: Aside from teaching, he gave his first clinic in the Art Music School, and took over the lead guitars in the Eve’s Apple band, that consisted of 21 female singers from well known international metal bands, and Greek musicians, under the direction of Maxi Nil (Jaded Star, ex-Visions of Atlantis) and played a hige show in about 3000 people in Belgium at the Metal Female Voices Fest. In the same year, Enemy Of Reality were created.
2014-2018: With Enemy Of Reality they composed, recorded and released two records that were highly acclaimed by the public and press in Europe and Mexico. ‘Rejected Gods’ (2014) and ‘Arakhne’ (2016) with participations by: Jeff Waters (Annihilator), Fabio Lione (ex-Rhapsody), Chiara Malvestiti (Therion), Mike LePond (Symphony X), Ailyn Giménez (ex-Sirenia), Androniki Skoula (Chaostar), Christos Antoniou (SepticFlesh, Chaostar) & Maxi Nil. They frequently play and tour in huge festivals and shows in Europe and they ‘ve shared the stage so far with artists such as: Therion, Annihilator, Rage, Epica, Leaves’ Eyes, Anathema, Uli Jon Roth, Gus G., Saturnus, Xandria, SepticFlesh, Stream of Passion και Sirenia. Steelianos himself shared the stage in 2015 with Michael Angelo Batio. At the same time he organized and performed in clinics in Athens that was live streamed by Local Stage (2015, Underground Music Studios) and Kiato (Corinthos) in 2017.
2018-2023: He teaches at the Art Music School of Yiorgos Fakanas, one of the best -if not the best- modern conservatories in Greece.
2020: Enemy of Reality release their cover of the Pontian Greek song “Tin Patrida m’ ehasa” that becomes a sensation in Greeks all over the world.
2021-2022: He releases two new instrumental songs, “Atypical” and “34 Funk Street”, introducing more elements in his compositions, ranging from Jazz Fusion to Funk, as well as a couple of music videos for each of those.
2022: Enemy of Reality perform at the Release Athens Festival as the support to Sabaton, Epica, Blind Guardian.
2023-2024: They release their third record, “Where Truth May Lie” as well as two music videos for this, followed by a mini tour in Greece to promote it.
His teaching methods have developed, evolved and optimized for many years, by studying an enormous amount of books, by teaching students by all levels, recording, playing live shows and discussing with other musicians about music and teaching, and it consists of:
- Modern Theory and Harmony, Metal, Rock, Hard Rock, Shred, Blues, Jazz and other styles are covered
- All the modern techniques of the guitar (Alternate, Sweep picking, Tapping & 8-finger, Legato, String skipping, Pick & fingers, Wide stretches, Floyd Rose/tremolo bar etc.)
- Fingerboard knowledge (Scales, Arpeggios, Chords, Pentatonics, Triads, Extended Chords, Intervals)
- Improvisation (Strategies, Licks, Expression, Bending, Vibrato, Signature Licks and Solos)
- Rhythm Guitar (Sight Reading if wanted, Chord Charts, Different types of accompaniment)
- Repertoire (Riffs, Covers, Acoustic Clean, Electric Distorted)
